Shelby, I finally figured you out. You are the only reaction content creator that doesn’t seem to like most of Taylor songs, at least upon first listen. It seems like you want to just listen to a song without reading any lyrics and you want to “get it.” I understand that. Music is for the ears. But one thing you have to understand with Taylor is that her lyrics are so superior than everyone else’s, that you have to read the lyrics when you’re hearing a song for the first time. Only then will you finally understand the genius that is Taylor Swift. Because she is first and foremost a songwriter. A storyteller. A poet. She’s a great guitarist, vocalist, and pianist as well. But that’s not where her superiority lies. I am an OG Swiftie. Yet it took me years to figure this out myself. But she is in a class by herself, sometimes maybe even a genre by herself. Oh, and it might help to have a dictionary on hand too. Lol

I have never heard Luke Hemmings before, but I like this! I also loved watching you react to your favorite artist. 🥹 This is EXACTLY how I feel listening to new Taylor music. When the tortured poets came out, I was SOBBING with joy and heartache at the same time.

The smallest man who ever lived is highly believed to be about Matty Healy. From what I’ve heard, he basically came (back) into her life, love bombed her and promised her the world (kids, marriage) and then he apparently left without warning. Loml is thought to be about him too, which is arguably the most heartbreaking song on the album. This is all speculation of course because Taylor has never and will never confirm. But overall, that’s what the song is believed to be about.

The Anthology starting from the black dog is my favourite, i only go back to like 4-5 songs from the original. Waiting for the Anthology reaction! ❤️

so "the anthology" it's more based on lyrics i would say, almost all of the songs on there are produced* by Aaron Dessner so it has more of a folklore/evermore sound to it

I personally prefer The Anthology maybe just cause that's kinda what I thought the album would be, but I feel like I also relate to more of them. Both parts are great though. With The Anthology you'll get more Aaron Dessner so more folklore/evermore vibes, but there are also some bangers, like imgonnagetyouback that has kinda Dress vibes, So High School is one of the only happy songs on this album, it literally gives like early 2000s romcom vibes. I love the first part too, overall it's definitely more upbeat than The Anthology, it tells a story at least those like 4 songs, like loml into Broken Heart into Smallest Man to The Alchemy, The Anthology is more randomly placed, except The Manuscript as the last track, that is very deliberately picked, you'll see why, that's the perfect ending to both parts of the album as a whole. And I think also How Did It End? is placed there carefully because it basically is the track 5 of The Anthology and when Taylor was revealing some lyrics before the album release 3 of them were from that song, so it's definitely super special to her and it shows, the song is really vulnerable, worthy of the track 5 place.
